November 2017 marks the first anniversary of Keele University’s Business Gateway – the ‘one stop shop’ for businesses to be able to access the University’s full line-up of support programmes, expertise and facilities.
Since its launch as part of the 2016 Festival, the Gateway has gone from strength-to-strength and has already supported more than 100 Staffordshire businesses in their product development, company growth and innovation advancement.
Through the Business Gateway, businesses are able to access student and graduate talent, benefit from academic and professional staff expertise and utilise the plethora of research and business facilities available within the UK’s largest university campus.
Examples of successes already achieved include construction company Deck Joint saving more than £12,000 annually thanks to the work of just two students during a placement, and Addmaster hailing the time spent participating in our Innovation Leadership programme as the “best investment they’ve ever made.”
The breadth of the University’s offer now means that we are able to work in partnership with local businesses from a wider range of sectors than ever before, providing them with opportunities for development and growth that they may not be able to access otherwise.
Our dedicated and knowledgeable relationship managers are able to guide businesses through everything that Keele University can offer them, and if we don’t have the expertise to assist then we will facilitate the referral to those who do.
We’ve created the Business Gateway to make it as easy as possible for local entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders to benefit from the resources on their doorstep and develop their companies and organisations. This will ultimately boost the local economy and establish Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire as one of the UK’s best locations to do business.
